Israel, you wacky country, what trouble have you been getting in this time? Ha ha ha. Those guys!
Some of you may have read a ghastly story recently in the news and still hovering around the edges of the social news universe: A boy the age of eight (that’s not a typo: eight years old) has shot and killed his father and another man, with one of the many guns that his father owned and had already taught him to use.
Call it the jubilation of victory talking, or maybe that airline-sized mini scotch I just pounded in celebration,
Beep. Beep. Beep. … Beep. … Beep.
If some things about our daily lives don’t change soon, it is highly likely that I will soon be the victim of a heart attack. Obviously I hope not, but there are many assassins of my inner peace out there and only a small portion of them do I have any control of.
I thought this might easiest handled by putting a few semi-random thoughts into a list:
This most stone-set of lessons learned, most irrefutable of human nature’s law. This most sad of all things:

a life needs no saints
their purity ruins our soul
winter comes too soon
Today, blinking like an owl among the pumps, I learned a new equation. $20.00 equals almost precisely a quarter tank of gas.
Why is it that the machinations of the law are always so predictable in the worst of ways?
