I like Bruce Willis, I like science fiction, I like dystopias disguised as utopias. This one was okay, and suffered from the same problems that I, Robot did. Mainly, it was just too small in scope.
This is an easy one. Facebook is just full of idiots. Chock Full O' Dumb.™
I don't have any kids, but I do know they are fairly dumb. Add to their inherent stupidity an out of touch set of adults, and there's a lot of room for trouble, especially where Facebook is concerned.
This week's topic is facebook, everyone's "favorite" Web site. If you know me, then you know I'm not a fan, but that doesn't mean I am uninterested in discussing it.
I am not a very private person. I can't imagine that anyone who considers themselves as such would have a facebook account. Yet we hear a lot about the social networking site's stance on privacy: chiefly that you have none, and they do their best to strip you of it when you're not looking.

As I've been thinking about this, one thing has been nagging at me... can we be over temporal issues at this point?
Was Vanilla Ice suggesting that we all collaborate on something while we listen? Did he invent Pandora Radio? I suppose it's possible. It's also possible that he didn't know what the word "collaborate" means, but who am I to judge? I'm no wordsmith.
We have squarely entered into the age of the smartphone. This is the ultimate convergence of communications and technology. The existence of the smartphone is not new--we've had BlackBerries and similar devices for around 7 years. But until Apple came to the game, things were pretty dull for consumers. So what's the big deal?
When are people going to stop recognizing this icon? Has it already happened?
This is something that ran through my head today as I tried to show an older gentleman how to save something in PowerPoint.
My parents sent us an early Christmas present this year, and it's definitely the best household item we've acquired... maybe ever.
Come take a look...
